THERE IS POWER IN THANKSGIVING: PART ONE
Sometimes people think that recognizing God for the many blessings is just an act to satisfy a God who needs to be lavished with our praise and thanksgiving. That seems to make our loving Father a very selfish person, which is farther from the truth.
When we give thanks to our loving Father, we are actually opening ourselves to some great things for our benefit.
Giving thanks to God acknowledges the fact that we recognize our Father God as the source of all our blessings. According to Proverbs 3: 5 – 6, it gives us the benefit of God’s direction in our lives.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths.”
Giving thanks to God on a regular basis keeps our mind on God which will produce the peace of God in your life.
Isaiah 26:3 “Thou will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusts in Thee.”
Giving thanks to God acknowledges your faith in the Word of God that says if we dwell in His presence (by recognizing that blessings come from our loving Father), we are in that secret place of the Most High, recognizing God as our refuge and our fortress placing us under God’s protection.
I will continue with some of just many, many reasons what we should give thanks in my next blog.
